I’m So Glad We Swiped Right
Who would have thought that you could actually find love online?
They say when you stop looking for love then that’s when it will find you - and they are absolutely right. We swiped right in October 2016, and she didn’t reply to his message for two weeks! He was ready to delete his account when that message came in.
We met in a Baskin Robbins on October 19th, had our first kiss two days later, and made it official on November 5th. He popped the question on Mount Bonnell in Austin, TX on November 5th, 2021 - the same date 5 years later - and she said yes.
Now, with over 7 years (and 3 dogs!) under our belts, we invite you to join us for our union in marriage.
Frequently Asked Questions
What should I wear?
The dress code is garden cocktail attire, but please come as you are - we are just happy to have you with us on this important day.
What will I eat?
We will be serving dessert due to the time of day and probable heat. Please list any dietary restrictions on your RSVP.
Where should I park?
Zilker Botanical Garden’s parking lot is right at the entrance, and there will be reserved parking spots for our guests.
What is there for the kids?
The garden will be open to the public, so kids can walk around with a guardian to view the different areas such as the prehistoric garden or the Japanese tea house.
Where should I stay?
The Zilker park area is near downtown Austin, so feel free to find a nice spot in the city. The northern suburban areas like Round Rock, Cedar Park, and others are quieter areas. Stay near IH-35 or US-183 for quick access to the greater Austin area.
Who will be there?
We are having an intimate wedding with only family members. We estimate there will be less than 30 people in attendance.
What is there to do?
Austin is full of fun activities for kids and adults! There are a lot of places to hike, including Mount Bonnell, as well as a bunch of famous food places to try, like Franklin’s Barbecue, VooDoo Doughnuts (for our Oregon family), or any of the numerous food trucks. Keep in mind that there are many toll roads in Texas, and you’ll want to set your GPS to avoid them.
There is no registry listed, what if I want to give a gift?
Since many of our guests are traveling from other locations, we would prefer you all get to spend time here in lieu of gifts. However, if you still feel compelled to give, you can find our small Amazon registry here.
